Bringing the Community Back to BKLYN Commons
BKLYN Commons was always meant to be more than desks and Wi-Fi. It was built to be a neighborhood hub — a place where Prospect Lefferts Gardens businesses, artists, and organizers could find each other. This season we are doubling down on that promise and actively reconnecting with the local businesses that make Flatbush what it is.
That means opening our doors to community programming again: pop-ups, markets, workshops, panels, and cultural events led by the people who live and work here. If you run a local business or creative practice and want to do something together — a co-hosted event, a member perk, a neighborhood initiative — we want to hear about it. Our collaborations are simple: you tell us the idea, who it's for, and what each side brings, and we figure out the rest together.
Our first big collaboration of the season is already on the calendar: on September 12th we are hosting an art show at BKLYN Commons in partnership with local artists. Expect work from the neighborhood, music, and a full house of the community this space was built for. Mark the date — September 12th at 495 Flatbush Ave.
This is just the beginning. We are lining up more collaborations with Brooklyn businesses and creators for the fall, and we would love your idea to be one of them.
