How to Plan an Event at BKLYN Commons
Every good event starts with three numbers: guest count, date, and budget. Once you have those, everything else falls into place quickly.
Guest count determines the space. Smaller gatherings, workshops, and board meetings work beautifully in our meeting rooms and lounge areas. Larger receptions, screenings, launches, and community programming belong in the larger halls, and warm-weather events do best on the rooftop.
Date matters more than most people expect. Fridays and Saturdays book out first, especially between May and October. If your date is flexible, weekday evenings are easier to secure and often quieter for setup.
For layout, tell us whether you need seated rows, cocktail rounds, or open floor. That single detail changes capacity dramatically, and it is the first thing we confirm on a walkthrough.
The process itself is simple: send an inquiry with your details, we follow up to schedule a walkthrough, and we confirm the hold once you have seen the room. For our signature halls and the rooftop we always start with a tour rather than an instant checkout, because these spaces deserve to be seen before you commit.
